Brass Band Training in June 2018
On June 5, 2018, Kyamate was the lively scene of a comprehensive training session for the Boys and Girls Brigade, drawing participants eager to learn the discipline and arts of brigade performance. Young boys and girls, joined by interested community members, gathered to experience hands-on training in marching, drumming, and the unique musical style associated with brigade ceremonies. The training was both rigorous and inspiring, as instructors emphasized not only technical skills but also values of teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
The rhythmic sounds of drums and the synchronized movements captivated many onlookers, some of whom decided to join in and try their hand at brigade music and drills. The enthusiastic interest from the participants showed the community’s desire to revive and celebrate the brigade tradition, as well as to instill these time-honored skills and values in the youth.
By the end of the day, the trainees had made remarkable progress, displaying a newfound confidence and skill in their brigade routines. This training not only introduced them to the captivating arts of the brigade but also fostered a sense of pride and unity, as Kyamate celebrated the tradition of the Boys and Girls Brigade.
