A group from the Deanery – South Ankole Diocese together with the Bishop had a privilege of visiting Ankole Diocese in Mbarara. The key visting group was the St. Matthew Cathedral choir – Kyamate which was returning a visit of their counterparts. The focus is to strengthen the friendship, Share experiences and learn from each other.
The visting team ministered in the main service 11am- 1pm where the led in songs of worship, a skit and then Bishop- Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe shared the Word of God. The bishop share about The fruits of the Holy Spirit and encouraged the Christian to desire the gift of the Holy Spirit as He was promised by God in the Old Testament Joel 2:28 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Which prophecy was fulfilled in the New Testament at the day of the Pentecost in Acts: 2. He Challenged Christians to desire that free gift and refuted the misconception of many Christians who think that the Holy Spirit is for other churches and believes. He highlighted the gifts of the Holy Spirit as given in Galatians 5:20.
There after the visitors were treated to a nice lunch where they also got an opportunity to engage in an open discussion about the state of the worship music in the Anglican Church of Uganda and what can be done to remain relevant. The visitors later presented their gifts to the hosts which included a Cow and other Packages.
